Badal retains Home among 10 Ministries, Manpreet gets Finance

Chandigarh, Mar 7 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today retained ten ministries including Personnel, General Administration, Home Affairs and Justice, Housing and Urban Development, Vigilance, Excise and Taxation, Power, Employment, Legal and Legislative Affairs and NRIs affairs in the distribution of portfolios among his 18-member SAD-BJP coalition Council of Ministers.

State Governor Lt Gen (retd) S F Rodrigues announced that Mr Manpreet Singh Badal has been given Finance and Planning and Programme Implementation while the portfolios of Parliamentary Affairs, Medical Education and Research, Forests and Wildlife Preservation Wing of the Agriculture Department and Labour ministries have been allotted to Mr Tikshan Sud.

Mr Manoranjan Kalia will take care of Local Government and Industries and Commerce. Mr Ranjit Singh Brahmpura will look after Rural Development and Panchayats and Elections while Capt Kanwaljit Singh has the ministries of Cooperation, Defence Service Welfare, Removal of Grievances, Pensions and Welfare of Pensioners Wing of the Finance Department.

Among the Women Cabinet ministers, Ms Upinderjit Kaur will take care of Education and Civil Aviation while Ms Lakshmi Kanta Chawla will look after Health and Family Welfare ministry.

Mr Adesh Partap Singh has the ministries of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Information Technology and Mr Guljar Singh Ranike will look after Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Dairy Development, Welfare of SCs and BCs and Sports and Youth Services.

Mr Ajit Singh Kohar will take care of Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management and Master Mohan Lal will look after Transport department. PWD (B&R) ministry have gone to Mr Parminder Singh Dhindsa.

The ministries of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Social Security and Development of Women and Children ministries come under Mr Swarna Ram while Mr Sucha Singh Langah will look after Agriculture ministry.

Mr Janmeja Singh will take care of Irrigation Department while Jails Wing of Home Department, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Printing and Stationery ministries goes to Mr Hira Singh Gabria.

Mr Bikram Singh Majithia has the ministries of Water Supply and Sanitation, Information and Public Relations and Science and Technology, Environment and Non-conventional Energy.
