Assistant Public Prosecutor of Delhi Police arrested for bribery

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Public Prosecutor of the Delhi Police, posted at Patiala House Court, for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

The complainant of CBI trap case was the defence lawyer of a case registered in R K Puram Police Station which ended in acquittal, according to the CBI.

He later lodged a complaint at Vasant Kunj Police Station against the complainant of CBI trap case who was the defence lawyer of said case.

On completion of investigation of the case at PS Vasant Kunj, it was pending with the accused Deepak Barua, Assistant Public Prosecutor, for opinion, who in turn contacted the complainant and demanded Rs 10,000 for giving a favourable opinion in the case.
