Security tightened ahead of Prez's visit

Lucknow, Mar 6 (UNI) Security has been beefed up ahead of President A P J Abdul Kalam's visit to Uttar Pradesh on March 10.

The President would visit the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) training academy at Ghaziabad on March 10 to participate in the para military force's raising day.

UP Governor T V Rajeswar and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil would also participate in the hour-long programme at the Indirapuram-based academy.

A meeting chaired by chief secretary N C Bajpai today reviewed the security arrangements to be made on the VVIP visit.

Several senior police officials, including DGP Bua Singh and other government functionaries from various departments participated in the meeting, police sources added.

The President would remain in UP for an hour and leave for the national capital along with the union home minister.
