Police arrests 5 dacoits in Sangli
Sangli, Maharashtra, Mar 6 (UNI) Five dacoits, who had robbed house of Dr Bapusaheb Patil at Miraj tehsil, were today arrested by rural police.
Miraj rural police recovered gold ornaments from them and arrested Ramesh Naik from Kapoli, Belgaum district, Navshad Inamdar, Namdev Chavan, Deepak Pandurang Dongade all three from Miraj and Madhu alias Govind Kale from Jat tehsil of this district, police said.
On January 18, 2007, dacoits attacked the house of Dr Patil (60) at Mhaishal in Miraj tehsil and looted cash and ornaments worth Rs three lakh, police said.
Dr patil and his wife were injured in the attack, police sources said adding three persons involved in the dacoity are still absconding.
