Parents of Pakistani boy call on Delhi CM
New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) Parents of a Pakistani boy who successfully received cochlear implant in a city hospital, today called on Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to express their gratitude.
Ten-year-old Naved, deaf and dumb since birth, was implanted a cochlear device by a team of doctors led by Dr A K Aggarwal at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital here.
The parents appreciated the efforts of the doctors and the state government.
The device would help him hear, which would in turn help him speak very soon, something his parents were eagerly waiting for.
Naved, resident of Multan, would shortly return home and now study in a regular school instead of a special one.
Ms Dikshit expressed confidence that her government would continue to provide suitable facilities for treatment of patients coming from neighbouring countries.
