Kahlon is pro-term Speaker of Punjab assembly

Chandigarh , Mar 6 (UNI) Punjab Governor Gen (retd) S F Rodrigues today administered the oath of office to Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) legislator Nirmal Singh Kahlon as pro-tem Speaker of the state Assembly at a brief ceremony at the Punjab Raj Bhavan here.

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his Cabinet colleagues Ranjit Singh Brahampura and Manoranjan Kalia and other senior officers of the state government and the Vidhan Sabha were also present on the occasion.

Mr Kahlon, who was elected from the Fatehgarh Churian constituency, had served as assembly Speaker in 1985.
