Jammu STN CDR to lead iaf presidential fleet review parade
Jammu, Mar 6 (UNI) Jammu Air Force Station (AFS) station commander group captain J S Kler will command Indian Air Force (IAF) presidential fleet review parade at Chandigarh tomorrow.
A helicopter pilot, GP capt Kler will be leading the IAF fleet review parade, which is taking place after 31 years, in his home town.
A third generation military officer, GP capt Kler is son of Lt Gen G S Kler (Retd), and was practicing hard along with other IAF personnel for the last 15 days.
President A P J Abdul Kalam will take the salute on the occasion, which will witness a fly-past by all 27 types of aircraft in IAF.
The last fleet review, which also held in chandigarh, was for then president Fakruddin Ali Ahmed on January 19, 1976.
The first presidential fleet review took place in 1954 under president Rajendra Prasad while the second held in 1972 under president V V Giri. Both the events were held at palam airport, new Delhi.
