Srinagar, Mar 6: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has said ''enemies of peace'' would not be allowed to stall the peace process which had started moving smoothly with reasonable pace.

Addressing a public meeting yesterday at Kokernag, about 80 km from here in South Kashmir, Mr Azad said vested interests were deliberately trying and making futile attempts to destroy the benefits of the peace process.

''I am committed to bring the people of Jammu and Kashmir out of mess and turmoil,'' he said, adding he would not allow anybody to kill innocent people in the name of fighting militancy.

The Chief Minister said those involved in the killings in fake enounters would have to face the law of the land as was done in case of SSP Parihaar and others involved in custodial killings.

Mr Azad said it was a matter of proud that the Valley was an abode of great sufis, saints and spiritual personalities who had always spread message of peace, brotherhood and love.

He said enemies of Kashmir for their petty interests destroyed the composite culture and were using their mischievous tactics to promote ''hatism''.

''But with the support of people I have the courage and confidence to expose all such elements,'' he said, urging people to remain united in defeating all such elements who believed in ''destruction rather that construction''.
