DefMin Presents Best Marching Contingent Trophies

New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) Defence Minister A K Antony today presented the 'Best Marching Contingent' Trophies for the Republic Day Parade 2007 at a simple function here.

The Best Marching Contingent Trophy among the three Services was awarded to the Jat Regiment and was received by Lt Sumeet Dabral, who commanded the Jat Regiment Contingent in this year's Republic Day Parade.

The Best Marching Contingent Trophy for the paramilitary forces was awarded to the Central Industrial Security Force. This trophy was received by its parade contingent commander Assistant Commandant Nagendra Sharma.

On the occasion, the Defence Minister congratulated the award winners and hoped that these trophies would serve as a motivation and encouragement for everyone to raise the levels of their performance in the future.

He said the feedback on the content and arrangements for this year's Republic Day ceremony had been very encouraging. ''This year's arrangements were unparalleled in terms of standard and scale,'' he added.
