Court rejects Navy War Room leak accused plea for 'in-camera' tria
New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) A local court today rejected the appeal by one of the accused in the Navy War Room leak case that all court proceedings be carried out 'in-camera'.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Seema Maini rejected his appeal after it was put before her court today.
Last week, accused Abhishek Verma, son of Congress leader Srikant Verma, had filed an application in the court that all court proceedings in the Navy War Room leak case be carried out 'in-camera'.
This, said Verma, was necessary as he was getting bad publicity in the Press.
It was the first time that an accused had filed such an application seeking 'in-camera' proceedings due to adverse Press, whereas generally it would be the prosecution agency which would appeal for this.
