Congress Supremo directs Meghalaya CM to quit

Shillong, Mar 6 (UNI) Congress President Sonia Gandhi today directed Meghalaya Chief Minister J D Rymbai to quit the office of Chief Ministership and hand over the mantle to his predecessor D D Lapang.

Ms Gandhi, who held a closed-door meeting with Mr Rymbai in her 10, Janpath office in Delhi this evening in presence of AICC in-charge (North East) Oscar Fernandes, ordered him to hand over the office to Mr Lapang.
