Chautala seeks scarpping of Punjab act

Chandigarh, Mar 6 (UNI) Indian National Lok Dal(INLD) has demanded scrapping of the Punjab Termination of Agreements Act 2004 and immediate commencement of work for construction of SYL canal.

Talking to newspersons at Hisar, INLD chief and former Haryana Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala said the Supreme Court had already decided in favour of Haryana on the SYL construction issue and had instructed the Centre to ensure completion of the canal within due time frame.

Mr Chautala claimed there was no case pending in any of the courts about the construction of the SYL canal and the Central government had no hindrance in this regard.
