Badal to head police reforms Cabinet sub-committee
Chandigarh, Mar 6 (UNI) The Punjab Cabinet today decided to set up a Cabinet sub-committee on police reforms.
This sub-committee would be headed by Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal, who has been authorised to nominate other members of the Committee.
The committee has been empowered to decide and finalise the police reforms keeping in line with the judgment of the Supreme Court on police reforms in a writ petition (civil) filed by Mr Parkash Singh, a retired IPS officer, and others.
This decision was taken at the first meeting of the new Cabinet held here under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister.
The previous Cabinet of Amarinder Singh had in its last meeting last month refered the police reforms issue to the next Cabinet.
