Airtel crosses 3 million customers in Delhi
New Delhi, Mar 6: Leading mobile services provider Airtel has crossed the three-million customer mark in the capital, even as it plans to increase the number of cell sites in Delhi and NCR by over 30 per cent in fiscal 2007-08.
Airtel has over 2,300 cell sites in Delhi and NCR currently.
It also plans to increase its number of Airtel relationship centers by 20 per cent from the present 65. Airtel also has close to 15,000 retail outlets.
''The three-million mark is the testimony to the quality of services that we offer in Delhi, also the first city where we launched our cellular services,'' said Mr Christopher Tobit, CEO, Airtel Delhi circle, (Mobility) Bharti Airtel Ltd.
With this, Airtel becomes the first mobile operator to complete this milestone in the national capital in a year.
Bharti Airtel Ltd has an aggregate of 35.51 million customers as of end of January '07, consisting 33.73 million mobile customers.
