Woman burnt alive by husband

Hajipur, Mar 5 (UNI) A woman was allegedly burnt alive by her husband with the help of his relatives on the occasion of 'Holikadahan' at Bathadasi village under Rajapakar police station area in Vaishali district, police today said.

Police said Punu Singh, along with his family members, set ablaze his wife Salja Devi for dowry on Saturday when the entire village had gone for 'Holikadahan'.

Salja Devi got married to Punu Singh in 2001 and since then was being tortured by her in-laws for dowry.

The body had been sent for autopsy at Patna Medical College Hospital.
