Woman burnt alive by her husband

Hajipur, Mar 5 (UNI) In a gruesome act of barbarism, a woman was burnt alive by her husband rpt her husband with the help of his relatives on the occasion of Holikadahan at Bathadasi village under Rajapakar police station area in Vaishali district.

Police here today said Punu Singh, along with his family members, set ablaze his wife Salja Devi near their house on Saturday when the entire village had gone for Holikadahan.

The police said Salja Devi got married to Punu Singh in 2001 and since then she was being tortured by her in-laws for dowry and finally burnt alive.

The body had been sent for autopsy at Patna Medical College Hospital.
