School accused of punishing kids for not paying fee on time

Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, Mar 5 (UNI) Authorities of a private school at Vriddachalam here have been accused of punishing two school children for not paying fee and other dues on time.

According to Venkatesan, father of Vetrivel and Eashwari, the school located in Sattamangalam Village charged exorbitant fee and donation every year.

He was working as an assitant to a doctor and with his meagre salary could not pay the fee and other dues on time. When, he sought more time to remit the dues, the authorites agreed.

However, for the last 15 days, Vetrivel, a standard two student and Easwhari of LKG, were made to kneel down from 1100 hrs to 1500 hrs everyday in the hot sun, he claimed.

When he threatened to commit suicide, the school authorities in a nonchalant manner said Venkatesan could go ahead. They were only concerned about the payment.

He then preferred a complaint with the Chief Educational Officer (CEO). Finally, he submitted a memorandum to the District Collector today.
