Panic after militant lobs grenade on forces

Srinagar, Mar 5: Panic gripped high security Karan Nagar area of the city when militants hurled a hand grenade at a security force patrol this afternoon.

Official sources said militants hurled a hand grenade at security forces at Karan Nagar chowk where a number of security force camps are located. However, it did not explod, they said, adding traffic on the road was suspended and people present in the busy market area were taken to a safer place.

Later, the bomb disposal squad defused the grenade without causing any damage.
