JMM calls 12-hour bandh in Bengal tomorrow
Purulia, Mar 5 (UNI) Jharkhand Mukti Morcha today called a 12-hour bandh in north and south Bengal tomorrow, to protest yesterday's murder of party MP Sunil Mahto in Jharkhand.
Talking to newspersons here, JMM West Bengal State Committee President Ajit Prasad Mahata said they have delayed the bandh by a day because of the ongoing Madhyamik examination.
Meanwhile, the Purulia district police has alerted all the thana areas in adjoining Purulia and Jamshedpur in neighbouring Jharkhand in connection with the attack.
Purulia Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Prasad has confirmed tight security in and around the district border.
JMM general secretary Sunil Mahto and three of his bodygaurds were shot dead by suspected Maoists at Kesharpur in East Singbhum District last evening.
