House site pattas to Davidpet residents: CM
Puducherry, Mar 5 (UNI) The administration would take all steps to provide house site pattas to 327 residents of Davidpet who lost houses in a fire mishap two days back, Chief Minister N Rangasamy said here today.
Giving this assurance to the people who called him, Mr Rangasamy said they could not, however, give the pattas immediately since they were residing on temple land and the formalities were required to be completed.
The Chief Minister said the government would distribute application forms to them from this evening for getting Rs one lakh under the Perumthalaivar Kamaraj Housing Scheme for construction of houses.
Accepting this, the villagers dispersed and allowed Revenue authorities to enter the village to assess the damages.
Till then, the residents prevented the Revenue authorities from entering the village and refused all government assistance demanding each family be given Rs one lakh under the housing scheme.
Mr Rangasamy also told newsmen later that the enhanced old age pension of Rs 600 per month would be disbursed from March seven.
