Decision on CBI inquiry to be taken in a day or two, Jaiswal
Jamshedpur, Mar 5 (UNI) The Centre will take a decision in a day or two on Jharkhand government's request for a CBI probe into yesterday's gunning down of JMM's MP Sunil Mahto by the Moaists near here.
Union minister of state for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal, who reached here, said the Centre would also send additional forces help the state gvoernment to combat extremists in Jharkhand. He, however, did not disclose the size of para military forces to be sent here.
The Union Government would not sit quiet after seeing the anti-social elements triggering a reign of terror. He was refering to assacination of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha's MP, who was also party's general secretary.
As Chief Minister Madhu Koda hinted a possible conspiracy behind the killing of the JMM leader, Mr Jaiswal also echoed the same and asserted that an investigation would unearth the fact.
Terming the incident as cowardly and brutal, Mr Jaiswal said the Centre would assist the government in all possible manner to restore normalcy.
Asking the Koda government to work on war footing to counter the militancy, he said the joint operation in cooperation with neighbouring states against ultras would continue.
Soon after the killing, Mr Koda had requested the Centre for the CBI inquiry to unearth the truth.
