CPI appeals to Maoists, Naxalites to join politics
Patna, Mar 5: The CPI today appealed to the Maoist and Naxalite forces to give up arms struggles and join mainstream politics for strengthening Left unity in the country.
The appeal came after Maoists shot dead four people, including JMM's MP Sunil Mahto, near Jamshedpur yesterday.
The CPI, Bihar unit, said it was pointless for the Maoists and other Naxal outfits to remain in isolation from mainstream politics when the Maoists in Nepal joined the democratic forces for nation building.
Their (Maoists and Naxalites) joining mainstream politics would only strengthen Left forces in the country, the CPI release said.
The party condemned the recent Maoists' attack on Bihar Military Police (BMP) in which four personnel were killed and as many injured.
