Congress refrains from participating in Question Hour
Gandhinagar, Mar 5 (UNI) Opposition Congress MLAs in Gujarat today refrained from participating in the Question Hour in the state Assembly to ''protest the misleading and political answers given by the ruling BJP Ministers in the House''.
During the Question Hour, senior Congress leaders Balwantsinh Rajput, Govabhai Rabari and Rashida Patel did not raise their written questions when they were read-out despite being present in the House.
Treasury Bench members of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party objected and raised a Point of Order stating that the Congress members were insulting the House by not asking their questions and wasting time.
Later, after the Question Hour, Leader of Opposition Arjun Modhwadia raised another Point of Order asking Speaker Mangaldas Patel to give orders to the ruling BJP Ministers to give proper answers to the questions raised in the House rather than making statements loaded with political ''mileage''.
However, after an hour-long debate and heated arguments between both the Opposition and the Treasury Benches on the issue, the Speaker dismissed the Point of Order of Mr Modhwadia.
