Computer to all Panchayat offices in Orissa - Naveen
Bhubaneswar, Mar 5 (UNI) Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced to provide computer and other infrastructure facilities to all the Panchayat offices in the state.
Inaugurating the Panchayati Raj Divas at the exhibition ground here, Mr Patnaik said the state government would provide buildings and staff to the Panchayat offices across the state to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system.
He also announced that steps would be taken to provide training to the newly elected Panchayat representatives.
The Orissa government, Mr Patnaik said, would prepare a road map for the vision document on micro finance activity of the women self help groups in the state and disclosed that a Federation would be established in each district to strengthen two lakh women self-help group set up under the Mission Shakti programme.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated eleven-day-long ''Sishir Saras'', a ''lok nrutya ustav'' on the occasion. State Panchayat Raj Minister Raghuath Mohanty presided over the function.
Among others, Industry Minister B B Harichandan, Energy Minister S N Patra and Minister of State Panchayati Raj Sanjeeb Kumar Sahoo attended the function.
