Kerala CM denies diff in Cabinet over ADB loan

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 5: Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told the State Assembly today that there had been no difference in his Cabinet over availing the Asian Development Bank (ADB) loan for Sustainable Urban Development Proects being implemented by municipal corporations in the state.

Replying to a submission by Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy, he said all proceedings in this regard were done in the most transparent way.

A special Cabinet meeting on March two had ratified the agreement signed with the ADB on December eight, he said and alleged the Opposition was trying to create confusion over the issue for political ends.

Earlier, Mr Chandy urged the Chief Minister to clarify his stand on availing the Rs 1,500-crore loan pointing out media reports over differences in the Cabinet on the issue.
