CJs of Allahabad, Calcutta HCs appointed

New Delhi, Mar 5 (UNI) Justice Hemant Laxman Gokhale and Justice Surinder Singh Nijjar have been appointed Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court and Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court, respectively, it was announced today.

The appointments of Mr Justice Gokhale, judge of Bombay High Court and Mr Justice Nijjar, judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court, will be effective from the date they assume charge of their new offices, the Law and Justice Ministry said.
