BJP is a party of cheats: Pachauri

Raisen, MP, Mar 5 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Personnel Suresh Pachauri today accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being a party of cheats.

''The BJP does not believe in work but only in rhetoric and announcements,'' he said while addressing an election rally in support of Congress candidate Sahib Singh Patel in the run-up to the March 8 Udaypura assembly constituency bypoll. Among those present was Bollywood comedian Asrani.

''I am not a political leader but am here to make the people aware of reality. The Congress played a key role in India's struggle for freedom and most martyrs were from Congress fold,'' said Asrani.

Former minister Harvansh Singh and party leader Arif Akil also addressed the gathering.

The bypoll was necessitated by the resignation of former minister Rampal Singh after being elected to Parliament from Vidisha. The BJP has fielded Mr Singh's wife Shashiprabha.
