AUTA submits memorandum to Council Chairman

Visakhapatnam, Mar 5 (UNI) Andhra University Teachers Association (AUTA) today submitted a memorandum to Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Council Chairman K C Reddy requesting implementation of recommendation of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to increase the age of super-annuation of all university teachers to 62 years.

An Association press release here said, the AUTO demanded that the pension for university teachers be computed at the age of 60 years based on the recent High Court judgement, delivered in the case of one of the university Professors to grant pension based on last month's pay to his service.

The Association also requested the state government to calculate pension for university teachers at 60 years at the time of super-annuation and extension of revised gratuity and commutation rules to all the university teachers on par with the state government employees.
