AIMIM members force adjournment of House

Hyderabad, Mar 5 (UNI) AIMIM members forced the adjournment of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on the issue of the denial of hall tickets to intermediate students for a lack of attendance.

Trouble began as soon as the House met for the day with Speaker K R Suresh Reddy disallowing the adjournment motions tabled by TDP, TRS, CPI(M), CPI, BJP and Janata Party on the alleged attack on a media channel staff.

The adjournment motion tabled by the CPI(ML) New Democracy on the implementation of Koneru Ranga Rao Report and distribution of lands to the poor were also disallowed.

The AIMIM members then trooped into the Well of the House and stalled the proceedings.

The Speaker tried to convince in vain that the members could meet him in his chambers and he would allow a debate on the matter.

Minister of Higher Education Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao conveyed his willingness for a debate or making a statement in the House if directed by the Speaker.

Mr Suresh Reddy told the members they could meet the Minister concerned and sort out the issue.

When all attempts to take up the Question Hour failed, the Speaker adjourned the House for 15 minutes.
