45 houses gutted in fire

Lucknow, Mar 5 (UNI) About 45 dwellings were reduced to ashes in two fire incidents in Sultanpur and Sitapur districts of Uttar Pradesh today.

A report from Sultanpur said blazing flames -- helped by velocity winds this afternoon -- engulfed almost 20 houses in Pratap Singh village and destroyed property worth lakhs of rupees.

A hut caught fire in Bhitla village area, as the inmate was cooking food.

Soon, about 25 houses in the vicinity were gutted.

No loss of life was reported in either of the incidents, police said.
