2.1 mn dollar worth pirated software seized in last year: BSA
Hyderabad, Mar 5 (UNI) The Business Software Alliance (BSA), the voice of the world's IT software and hardware industry, today announced that it seized around 2.1 million dollar worth pirated software last year.
Substantial number of raids were conducted last year by BSA and its member companies collectively and individually that had revealed the extent of software piracy in the country, according to a BSA release here today.
The BSA and its member companies had plans to step up their enforcement actions this year to bring down the piracy rate.
The BSA adopts a three-pronged strategy -- spreading the awareness on the perils of piracy, training and education of users, including use of specialized tools like software asset management (SAM), and enforcement in addressing software piracy around the globe.
