Two people arrested in Jharkhand in connection with robbery case

Kolkata, Mar 4 (UNI) Two people were arrested at Tatanagar in Jharkhand yesterday in connection with a Rs 8.4 lakh robbery case in Purulia, police today said.

Purulia Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Prasad said, ''Around Rs 5,28,000, one nine MM pistol, 16 round cartidges and a motorbike have been seized.'' ''Three people, including a fake scribe, were involved in this case. The scribe, identified as Inayat Ali, also from Jamshedpur, was arrested with Rs four lakhs on Thursday while the rest fled,'' police said.

Inayat was produced in Purulia court and remanded to police custody for seven days.

Mr Prasad said, ''A press card of an English daily has been recovered from Ali. Investigation was on.'' Police sources said Inayat confessed to be a part of a Jamshedpur gang.
