New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) A bright and sunny day greeted Holi revellers in the Capital today with a nip in the air tucked-in, even as the evening brought a sweep of cloud or two with it but no rains.

While the maiximum temperature hovered at 26 degree Celsius, which was one degreee below normal and two degrees more than yesterday, the minimum for the day remained normal at 13.1 degrees.

Following the trend of the past two days, Delhiites witnessed a clear sky with bright sunshine -- adding a strand of joy to Holi celebrations and the almost announcing the arrival of Summer.

With the weather office forecasting a mostly sunny day for the next 24 hrs and the continuance of dry and sunny weather conditions, winter seems to be winding up in the Capital, though yesterday the weatherman had predicted that night temperatures would fall and possiblility of rain or snowfall over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during the next 48 hours under the influence of a feeble western disturbance.

''The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to rise and register 27 and 14 degrees respectively with no rainfall,'' it said while adding that maximum humidity would be around 84 and minimum 34.
