Song, Dance mark pre-Holi celebrations in Delhi

New Delhi, Mar 4: It was an almost ''endless show of song and dance'' that marked the celebrations in Delhi in the run up to the riotous "festival of colours, Holi.

The Holi eve in Delhi saw a colourful song and dance display by many pop singers and traditional folk dancers from several parts of the country which lent a touch of 'entertainment, Masti and colours' to the surroundings in keeping with the spirit of the festival.

On the eve of Holi on Friday night, NGO Manthan organised a colourful Pre-Holi celebration with singers like Shankar Sahhney, Ashok Mastie, Vipin Aneja, upcoming singer Simriti Manocha, Miss India Canada Yamini Singhal and more than 50 Rajastani Traditional dancers from Jaipur ''setting the stage on fire'' with their delightful song and dance performances at Jacaranda farms located on the Delhi-Gurgaon HighWay.

Filling the atmosphere with the ''aroma of love and affection'' that symptomises Holi festival were Holi-related songs and enthralling show of Rajasthani folk dance by the artists on the occasion of celebrations of the traditional 'Phoolon ki Holi'.

While renowned Punjabi pop singer Ashok Mastie enthralled the huge audience present at Jacaranda farms with his renowned song "Khadki Galasi", Shankar Sawhney presented the famous Holi song from film Sholay "Holi ke din dil khil Jaate Hain rangon mein rang mil jaate hain". Lending 'Masti' to the atmosphere was Vipin aneja with the rendition of the popular Holi song "Rang Barse bheege Chunarwali rang barse" from the film 'Silsila' which was followed by upcoming singer Simriti Manocha performing to her own song 'Nit khair manga soniya main teri dua na koi hor mang di' from the forthcoming film 'Sarhad Par'.

Said Miss India Canada Yamini Singhal, who was also present to enjoy the pre-Holi celebrations,''I have seen 'Phoolon Ki Holi' for the first time and I am very much excited to see this.

Holi celebrations are very special and famous and we can't see this kind of celebration anywhere else apart from India.''
