Journalist and his wife arrested on defamatory charges

Mangalore, Mar 4 (UNI) A Journalist of an eveninger 'Karavali Ale' and his wife and Managing Director of the group of publication were arrested on the charges of defamatory writings on Jain Digambar Munis.

Panambur Police arrested Journalist B V Sitharam and his wife Rohini last night on a complaint filed by Jain Association Office bearer Rajavarma Ballal, who had alleged that 'Karavali Ale' had published derogatory writings on nude munis of the Jain community.

The arrested were remanded to judicial custody till March 5.
