5 killed, 4 injured in UP road mishaps

Lucknow, Mar 4 (UNI) At least five persons were killed and four others grievously injured in separate road accident during the last 24 hrs in Uttar Pradesh.

Police said an accident took place in Sampoornagar area of Lakhimpur Kheri, where two persons were killed and three others seriously injured after being hit by a speeding bus today.

Irked over the incident, a mob staged a 'dharna' in Sampoornagar area and torched the bus, They could only be pacified after police reached the spot.

In Santkabirnagar, two persons were killed and another severly injured after a tractor-traolley, carrying them, overturned in Muhali area late last night.

In a separate incident, a boy was crushed to death by a tractor-trolley under Jarwal police station area in Bahraich today.

Agitated by the incident, villagers set afire the house of the tractor owner in Purwe village.

Cases were registered.
