W.Rly grants compensation to 143 blast victims

Mumbai, Mar 3: The Western Railways' Fast Track Railway Claims Tribunal has so far granted compensation to 143 victims of the serial blasts that rocked Mumbai's lifeline on July 11 last year.

As many as 169 cases of death claims were filed in the Fast Track Tribunal. Of these, 143 victims have been compensated and the remaining cases of death claims are expected to be finalised shortly, a WR release here today said.

The serial blasts that rocked Mumbai's suburban railway line, claimed 187 lives besides injuring several hundred others.
