Dehradun, Mar 3 (UNI) Decks have been cleared for the BJP to form a government in Uttarakhand, with the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, which won three seats in the elections, today giving the Governor a letter of support for the saffron party, which emerged as the largest but fell tantalisingly short of a majority in the 70-member house.

UKD legislative party leader Divakar Bhatt and MLA Pushpesh Tripathi, along with BJP Legislator Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' and party state General Scretary Ajay Bhatt called on the Governor this evening and submitted the letter of support to him.

UKD national president B D Raturi said that his party would be the part of the Government and at least one of the MLAs would be given ministerial berth in the BJP Government. Decision on the type of ministerial; cabinet or state, would be taken after the meeting of both the parties, he said.

''All the nine conditions put forward by his party has been accepted by BJP leadership which included the issue of shifting the capital to Gairsain and delimitation of constituencies on area basis.... however after discussion on technical aspects,'' he said.

The BJP, which emerged as the largest party in Assembly elections won 34 seats out of total 69 for which election was held. The party had been negotiating with independents and UKD for their support.

It had earlier managed to get support from two of the independents -- Yashpal Benam and Rajendra Singh Bhandari.
