Three die, 8 injured in accident

Dehradun, Mar 3 (UNI) Three persons including a police head constable, were killed and seven others were seriously injured, when the vehicle they were riding turned turtle at Bajpur in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand today.

Chandan Singh, 44, a police head constable, Ashok Kumar, 44, and Hayat Singh (45) were killed on the spot while eight others were injured when the Tata Sumo they were traveling in turned turtle after driver lost control at Bajpur about 0600 hrs this morning.

They were coming here from Gopeshwar.

Seven seriously injured have been referred to the Dehradun Hospital while the one with minor injuries was discharged after first aid.
