Ratan Tata, Leng pay homage to founder

Jamshedpur, Mar 03 (UNI)Tata Group Chariman Ratan Tata along with the Chairman of the newly-acquired Anglo-Dutch steel maker Cours Jim Leng today offered floral tributes to the statue of Tata Steel founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata inside the company works on the occasion of the Founder's day.

Tata steel managing director B.Muthuraman, Corus CEO Phillip Varin and other top officials of Tata Steel also paid homage to the founder to mark his 168th birth anniversay.

The day was marked by various programmes including a colourful parade in front of the huge statue of the founder.Tata steel and 46 of its associate companies and some social organisations took part in the parade.

Various departments exhibited their achievements through models and floats while a spectacular air show controlled by remote was also the another attraction of the celebrations.

The theme of this year's founder's day celebrations was three Ts- Technology,Theory of Constraint and Total Quality Management,the company sources said and added the founder's day celebrations was the begining of the Tata steel's centenary year celebrations as the company would turn 100 years on August 26 this year.

Mr Tata also flagged off the colourful founder's day pageantry, organised with the active participation and support of the citizens and local administration in front of the founder's bust near Bisutupur here.

Earlier, Tata sons director S.A.Sabavala inaugurated the illumination of Jubilee park last evening in presence of Mr Tata, Mr Leng and other dignitaries.The function was followed by a spectacular fire works in the Beldih golf course.

Mr Leng also inaugurated an exhibition ''Celebrating Globalism- a tribute to the Founder'' inside Jubilee park.
