MP bypoll: Cong demands CRPF in Gwalior
Gwalior, Mar 3 (UNI) Expressing apprehension of violence in connection with the March 8 Gwalior parliamentary constituency bypoll, All India Congress Committee General Secretary V Narayansamy -- who also holds charge of Madhya Pradesh -- today demanded that Central Reserve Police Force personnel be stationed here.
''The law and order situation deteriorated during the Bharatiya Janata Party's tenure. For winning the byelection by hook or crook, the BJP might not only misuse the administrative machinery but also capture polling centres and indulge in other forms of violence,'' he alleged before journalists in this citadel town.
Congress leaders Suresh Pachauri, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Sushil Kumar Shinde and Avtar Singh Bhadana would also come here to drum up support for party nominee Ashok Singh.
