Crime Branch to seek Interpol help in blast case

Kozhikode, Mar 3 (UNI) Kerala will Crime Branch Police seek Interpol's assistance for extradition from Dubai of a suspect involved in twin bomb blasts that rocked the city a year ago.

''We are contemplating to prepare a questionnaire, the initial step, to seek the help of the Interpol for extradition of Abdul Nazer, a suspected activist of the National Democratic Front,'' Crime Branch Police Superintendent T P Mohan Das said.

The CB, which took over the investigation from the local police six months after the incident, had clear information that Nazer, who left the country via Karippur International Airport near here, was in Dubai.

Investigation had so far had zeroed in on the involvment of Nazer, a native of Valancherry in Malappuram District, in the explosions at the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation and moufussil bus stands on March three, 2006 using detonators.

As per the video clippings available with the probe agency, Nazer had also participated in the anti-Bush procession in Kozhikode a few days before the blast, the officer added.
