Case of kidnapping for ransom worked out, one arrested

New Delhi, Mar 3 (UNI) The Delhi Police have worked out a case of kidnapping of a boy for ransom in Northeast Delhi with the arrest of two people and recovery of the boy from them.

On a complaint lodged by Nawab, a resident of Mandoli Extension in North East Delhi that he received a ransom call of Rs 1 lakh demanded by some kidnappers in lieu of release of his son Fateh Khan who had not returned from his school on February 27, the police launched a manhunt.

On investigation, the needle of suspicion pointed to Noor Mohd,' a relative of the complainant who was working as a labourer (Palledar) at Apsara Border.

Noor Mohd was arrested yesterday when he, along with an accomplice Arif, arrived at Mandoli with the boy.

On sustained interrogation, both persons confessed to having committed the said crime to earn quick money.

As per their plan, they kidnapped the boy Fateh Khan on February 27 while he was returning from the school and took him to Shaheed Nagar in a room which they had already taken on rent for this purpose.

A case of kidnapping for ransom was registered at Nand Nagri police station.
