Bomb scare in college at Udhna proves hoax

Surat, Mar 3 (UNI) An anonymous call made to a college in Udhna, saying that three bombs, planted in the college, would explode in the afternoon proved to be a hoax after a thorough of the premises search by the police today.

Police said R N Nayak Akademi College Principal Mehul Desai received the call and the caller told him the bombs would go off at 1400 hrs. He immediately reported the matter to the police.

A bomb disposal squad and dog squad rushed to the spot. The college was evacuated and a thorough search was conducted, but nothing was found, sources added.
