Two school inspectors suspended for irregularities
New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) Two school Inspectors working in the Education Department of Municipal Corporation of Delhi have been suspended in connection with several irregularities.
The suspension of the school Inspectors, Ms Shakuntla Arya and Mr Deshraj, comes under directions of the Delhi High Court in the matter of a PIL filed by NGO Social Jurist.
Subsequently, on the orders of the Municipal Commissioner, intensive inspections of Municipal Primary Schools Nithari, Kirari and Prem Nagar were carried out by Additional Commissioner (Incharge of Education Department) A B Shukla, Director (Primary Education) Indira Yadav and Superintending Engineer (Planning) P K Khandelwal.
Acting on their report, the Municipal Commissioner suspended the two School Inspectors since many irregularities were found on their part.
Headmaster of the Municipal Primary School (Prem Nagar) Lekhi Ram, Head Mistress of the Municipal Primary School (Kirari), Nirmla Gupta, HeadMaster, Municipal Primary School (Kirari) Jagdish Chand, Headmaster, Municipal Primary School (Nithari)-I Med Singh and Headmaster of Municipal Primary School (Nithari)-II Rajender Garg were issued written warnings.
Additional Commissioner of Education Department A B Shukla issued strict instructions to Headmasters of all Municipal Primary Schools to make available basic civic amenities in all the schools. He said that for this purpose, Headmasters of all municipal primary school had been provided Rs 50,000 for ensuring repair of toilet blocks, maintenance of sewer lines, draining out rain water, sanitation and cleanliness in their respective municipal school buildings.
Mr Shukla further said the classes being run in tents would soon be replaced by tubular classrooms.
