MPHC hears plea on medical colleges

Jabalpur, Mar 2 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today directed the Secretary to the Justice Chandra Bhushan Committee -- appointed to determine the fee structure for private colleges -- to submit a list of students who were not on the merit list and allegedly bypassed rules while securing admission in the state's private medical colleges.

Chief Justice Anang Kumar Patnaik and Justice Sanjay Yadav today heard a plea by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and directed the Secretary to reply within two months.

''As per the Supreme Court's directive, a common entrance test was conducted and 1,730 students figured on the merit list. However, other students were admitted including ones who obtained zero marks in the test,'' said Petitioner's Counsel Purushendra Kaurav.
