Kochi, Mar 2 (UNI) A legal notice was served on Chief Minister V S Achuthanandnan by Kerala pradesh Youth Congress committee president K P Anil Kumar for violation of the oath taken while being sworn in as Chief Minister.

The notice, served through advocate K Ramakumar, said he had violated his oath by recommending Justice V K Bali, former Chief Justice of Kerala High Court, to be appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court of India, in a letter addressed to President A P J Abdul Kalam.

The notice further said the Chief Minister's action amounted to denigrating the judiciary forgetting the well-maintained separation of executive and judicial powers envisaged in the Constitution.

It was further said the Chief Minister had taken a partisan stand showing undue interest in a particular judge.
