IT dept inspects accounts of prominent businessmen in Surat

Surat, Mar 2 (UNI) The Income Tax (IT) department is turning its heat on tax dodgers and has begun inspecting the accounts of professionals from sectors like diamond, textiles, jewellery, real estate groups to search for tax irregularities, sources today said.

The department began inspecting the books of these business establishments, including eight prominent business groups here to look for inconsistencies between declared and actual income since yesterday, sources added.
