I am real successor of Rajmata: Uma
Gwalior, Mar 2 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) Founder-President and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti today described herself as the ''real successor'' of late Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijayaraje Scindia.
''While I was renouncing worldy life before thousands of people at Amarkantak, the Rajmata gave me an offering and accepted me as her daughter. It was at her bidding that I entered politics and ensured that the BJP took this state's reins,'' the firebrand sadhvi claimed while addressing a public meeting in this citadel town.
Claiming that the BJS restricted the BJP to 34 instead of the expected 50-55 seats in the Uttarakhand poll, Ms Bharti added that she would wholeheartedly attempt to rout the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, then Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
''The BJS will field 100 candidates in Uttar Pradesh and the names will be announced by March 8,'' she revealed.
Ms Bharti later told mediapersons that she would take part in the BJS National Executive meeting scheduled here on March 24 and 25.
''I am not supporting any party for the March 8 Gwalior parliamentary constituency byelection. The BJP is indulging in propaganda about my returning to that party and I addressed this meeting to counter that,'' she claimed.
