Heroin worth Rs 3 crore seized, one held
Varanasi, Mar 2 (UNI) Central Narcotic Control Bureau today claimed to have busted an inter-state drug smuggling gang with the seizure of heroin worth Rs three crore from a Rajasthan-based drug peddler.
Bureau sources said here Rajan, a drug peddler based in Jhalawar (Rajasthan), was arrested from the Varanasi bus station here last night.
The sleuths also seized three kg heroin, valued at Rs three crore in the international market, from him.
On interrogation, the arrested peddler admitted to carrying the narcotic consignment to neighbouring Ghazipur district.
He also admitted to supplying heroin worth Rs 10 crore in various parts of east Uttar Pradesh in two years.
A case has been registered and investigations are on.
